Joe + Melanie // Toston, MT // Wild West Engagement

I know I've said it before, but I felt as though I went back in time during Joe and Melanie's engagement session. Everything from the 100 year old barn that's been in Melanie's family for five generations, to their attire, you could feel the essence of true grit that is the beating heart of the family ranch.

It was twenty degrees below zero that morning, and not a cloud in the sky. The fact that these two didn't ask to reschedule their session says a lot about who they are as people and as ranchers. I did ok with the multiple hand warmers I had going, along with my three coats, and two pairs of pants. Then, Melanie walks out in a gorgeous tulle skirt with no coat, ready to rock and roll. (PS. I want this skirt in every single color it comes in.)

We shot for 2-3 hours at three different locations and of course, we included the dogs and horses!

This couple is just so fun, ready for anything, and are keeping history alive by carrying on the ranching legacy. I feel so honored and excited to be part of their wedding day this August! Thankfully, it will be much warmer then!
