I think it's safe to say, that I ended my 2021 wedding season on a high note because it was basically a college reunion! The bride, most of the bridesmaids, and one of their husbands, and myself all went to college together. We hadn't seen each other in close to eight years, but you'd never know it by watching us together.
Life has definitely taken us all in different directions over the years, as Matt and Kelsey planned their big day in Maine all the way from Florida, and it couldn't have been more perfect! I mean, they got two first kisses at the altar! What more could you want?
There was a really homey essence with all of the scratch-made desserts (that I may or may not have stuffed my face with once I got back to my hotel room), the tablecloth that has been in the family for five generations, and the homemade spice rubs and hot sauces they gave to their guests as wedding favors. All of this combined with the vibe of the barn, made everyone feel right at home.
The day was filled with a sense of joy and ease, and some epic karaoke by Matt and his groomsmen! I'm just so grateful I got to be there to celebrate Kelsey and Matt, and to capture beautiful moments of their day!
I also have to acknowledge this venue and it's owners, because out of all the venues I've worked at, and the many owners and managers I've met, no one compares to Gene and Veronica. Not only did we tackle the day as a team, but they make everyone feel like family. This is what I'm talking about when I say I want to create relationships with other vendors. We value the other person, not just what they do. Veronica and Gene are so candid, incredibly easy to talk to, and just all around wonderful, good-hearted people, and I'm so thankful for the relationship we created in such a short amount of time! I can't wait until I get to work here again!
Matt and Kelsey, cheers to you! Annnnnd let's not wait another eight years to see each other ;)
